AD Ports Group Reports Unprecedented Second Quarter Success

AD Ports Group has announced remarkable financial results for the second quarter of 2026, achieving its highest quarterly net profit to date. Despite a turbulent geopolitical and macroeconomic environment, marked by unrest in the Strait of Hormuz, the group reported a net profit of Dhs836 million, reflecting an 88% increase compared to the same period last year.

Revenue Surge Driven by Diversified Operations

The group’s revenue in Q2 2026 soared by 47% year-on-year to Dhs7.08 billion. This impressive growth was largely attributed to the robust performance of its Maritime & Shipping, Economic Cities & Free Zones (EC&FZ), and Logistics Clusters. The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 49% year-on-year to Dhs1.74 billion, resulting in an EBITDA margin of 24.5%, a slight increase from the previous year’s 24.2%.

Strategic Adaptations in Response to Geopolitical Tensions

In response to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, AD Ports Group has actively pursued alternative trade routes under the UAE’s National Programme to Strengthen Supply Chain Resilience. These initiatives aim to minimize the impact of regional disturbances on cargo operations and the broader economic landscape of the UAE and the GCC. Key measures included rerouting cargo and feeder services to Fujairah Terminals and Khor Fakkan Port, and enhancing land and air bridges to maintain supply chain integrity.

Expansion of Regional and Global Operations

AD Ports Group has fortified its regional feeder shipping services, ensuring continuous cargo movement by deploying a fleet of 27 container vessels and five bulk vessels. These vessels serve alternative trade corridors connecting ports in India, Pakistan, Oman, the Red Sea, and the Upper Arabian Gulf region. The group has also developed overland trade corridors from Fujairah Terminals and Khor Fakkan port through bonded customs transit to major UAE ports, further supporting supply chain continuity.

Innovative Solutions in Logistics and Transportation

To address logistical challenges, AD Ports Group has introduced new air cargo solutions targeting critical commodities like food and pharmaceuticals. The group has chartered six aircraft and expanded its warehousing and storage capabilities, now exceeding 54,000 m², with plans for further growth by year-end. These efforts are backed by investments in additional refrigerated and dry containers, enhancing the group’s capacity to meet diverse customer needs.

Leadership’s Vision for Sustained Growth

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO, highlighted the group’s strategic adaptability and resilience. “Our record financial performance this quarter underscores our ability to navigate significant challenges while continuing our global expansion,” Al Shamisi stated. He emphasized the importance of the group’s landlord port business model, diversified trade routes, and international port presence in mitigating regional disruptions and enhancing profitability.

Al Shamisi also noted the impressive performance of the Economic Cities & Free Zones, driven by strategic asset sales, and the Maritime & Shipping sectors, which benefited from increased capacity and favorable market conditions. The logistics segment also showed strong results, with innovative overland and air solutions helping clients manage regional supply chain disruptions.

Under the guidance of UAE leadership, AD Ports Group remains committed to delivering long-term value to shareholders through resilience, operational excellence, and disciplined growth strategies.
